I signed up for Voice of San Diego’s news email after sending this email canceling my long-time subscription to the U-T San Diego on May 6:

I was appalled by the “front page” overlap endorsement of Carl DeMaio in Sunday’s paper. We all knew who the U-T supported, but that sort of endorsement belongs on the editorial page. I have never seen such biased and inept coverage of a local election as this year.

I am 60 years old, a native San Diegan and a subscriber to the paper since my college days at San Diego State University. For the past year my wife and I have been on the verge of canceling our subscription due to the deterioration of the news and editorial content of the paper over the last few years, but we never were pushed over the edge until today. That’s it. I am calling your subscription department today, if they are open, or tomorrow if they are not. I’ve had it.
