There are plenty of “best of” stories at the end of the year. We’d like your help putting together another kind of list: the worst of the worst.

What was the boldest claim we fact checked this year? Which fact check most shocked or horrified you? Which claim surprised you because it turned out to be true?

We’ve come up with a few categories to help you brainstorm and we’ll reveal our verdicts before the end of the year. But first, we’d love to get your picks.

Here are those categories to get you started:

• The Biggest Whopper

• The Quirkiest Claim

• Most Shockingly True

• The Dirtiest Declaration

• The Most Repeated Lie

Which of our fact checks deserve these labels? Any new categories you think we should create?

Email your picks to lisa.halverstadt@voiceofsandiego.org and include “Worst of the Worst” in the subject line.
