Mayor Bob Filner and several other local politicos say that city employees have gone years without pay hike but a recent memo revealed otherwise.
The memo documented pay raises received by more than half of city employees since mid-2009, after the city cut nearly all staffers’ salaries and benefits by 6 percent.
In the latest edition of Fact Check TV, our Scott Lewis took a closer look at Filner’s recent statement in light of that memo. He also explains why some staffers have received pay hikes despite all the rhetoric about salary cuts.
