Voice of San Diego is a member-based, nonprofit news organization. That means we depend on donors — large and small — to keep the lights on, the laptops humming and the reporters nosing around.

We’re building a community of engaged residents who understand the importance of strong, independent journalism and they’re willing to put their money where their mouths are. We’ll be introducing you to some of them this month as we try to raise $100,000 to meet our year-end revenue goal. We hope you’ll be inspired to support VOSD too.

All of these folks will be asking you to Be the Beacon.

What does that mean? Take a look at the VOSD logo. That little bow tie-looking icon is actually a beacon, and it represents our mission to shine a light on important issues impacting our community.

Felix Tinkov gets it. He’s been supporting us for years. Find out why.
