The Union-Tribune’s editorial board criticized the San Diego Unified School District Sunday for a budget proposal that would increase teacher salaries three years from now. We want your help to fact check one of its arguments.

The editorial described the teacher raises as a “twist that appears to be almost without parallel elsewhere in the United States.” We want to know if that’s true or not. While facing serious budget problems now, are any other school districts proposing pay increases down the line?

If you know about a piece of research, a news story or other information that would help us work on this fact check, please send an e-mail to keegan.kyle@voiceofsandiego.org or emily.alpert@voiceofsandiego.org. Be sure to include links to online articles so that we can confirm the information.

Thanks for the help!
