Wednesday, April 27, 2005 | Some experts have questioned whether the downtown San Diego condo boom will continue.
The chart displays the number of downtown condominiums added to or sold from the Multiple Listing Service, a database of San Diego’s for-sale real estate. These numbers generally do not include newly built units. New listings have noticeably outpaced sales for the past six months, indicating that demand may not be keeping up with supply. About 1,358 new condominiums and 329 apartments are slated for completion in 2005 (some are already finished and are sold), according to the Centre City Development Corp. CCDC anticipates that in 2006, about 1,444 additional condominiums and 541 apartments will come on line.
