In Rich Toscano’s latest example ($535,000 house) meant to scare the public, if the home appreciates 1.5 percent, the owner wins over a renter. The difference of $7200/year savings is 1.5 percent! Inflation alone will be more than 1.5 percent, so unless your article is trying to say home prices will fall, the owner still makes out. Do you not think prices will keep up with inflation or CPI? It’s funny how non-financial gurus tend to dismiss inflation.
