Thursday, June 15, 2006 | Michael Grant suggests bulldozing Lindbergh’s terminals and rotating the existing runway south to allow a second runway. This man is dangerous. Don’t planes have to take off into the prevailing wind for lift? Which direction is our prevailing wind? Northwest?
Shoehorning another runway, into our teacup embarrassment of an international airport, doesn’t alleviate the lack of length. Grant’s epiphany envisions making a bad situation worse. No wonder we are stymied by the airport situation, we have such a local brain trust at work.
