It appears the U-T is doing more than spreading the word of its new “watchdog” spirit, it’s also doing telephone surveys to ask residents what they think of the marketing campaign.

Reader CS reported getting a call from the U-T wondering if she had been exposed to the “watchdog” promotions and what she thought of the advertisements.

The surveyor also asked if investigative reporting was important her.

What happens if most people answer that question with a “no?” Is the U-T questioning whether it should really do this “investigative” thing after all?
