A couple weeks ago, I posted a question in my blog about the significance of other cities’ budget crises for our coverage of San Diego. I received good response in the comments section and on Twitter and have developed a plan.

My stories, blogs and my morning Agenda political news roundup will, for the most part, remain San Diego centered. Obviously, when context from other areas is relevant I will use it, like this post on the Bay Area city of Vallejo’s bankruptcy filing. And from time to time, I will highlight national stories like this one from The New York Times on NFL stadium financing woes.

The primary change will come in my Twitter stream. I think Twitter is the perfect place for me to pass along stories from other areas about topics that we’re following closely in San Diego. Expect to see a few tweets a day from me with articles on city budgets in California, municipal bankruptcy, NFL stadium searches and convention center expansions. I’m hoping this will allow for public discussion of broader trends nationwide.

Let me know if there’s another topic you’d like to see me follow. And follow me on Twitter at http://twitter.com/dillonliam.
