A new interactive mural in La Jolla is contingent on a question you learn to ask as a toddler: What’s your favorite color?

For our latest arts TV segment, our friends at NBC 7/39 and I visited the sites of that mural and another that was painted in August. We shot the footage last week before the new interactive mural got underway. But you can see the wall in process in the photographs above, which my friends Kaitlin Barker (yellow) and Rob Davis (orange) took Saturday when they picked out their favorite colors for the mural, dreamed up by artist Roy McMakin. (They joined roughly 1,000 people who picked from 65 colors for the mural, according to KPBS’s blog update today.)
