In November, voiceofsandiego.org hosted a public conversation about the future of technology, a talk between Irwin Jacobs, a co-founder of Qualcomm Inc., and Bill Stensrud, a venture capitalist and the director of Juniper Networks.

They ranged over the early days of cellular phones and the internet, student newspapers online, television watching habits, the use of technology in education, and why it’s sexier to be an investment banker rather than a scientist or an engineer.

The whole conversation, at just under an hour, will be broadcast several times over the next few weeks on UCSD TV. The debut is tonight, January 10, at 8 p.m. Find your local television channel at the bottom of this page.

You can also watch the video in full online in Flash on the the UCSD TV website or on YouTube, or download a high-quality MP4 video version (477 MB) or an audio-only MP3 version (27.3 MB).

Cheers to UCSD TV, whose staff did a superb job of lighting, recording and editing the event.
