This edition of Fact Check TV in partnership with NBC7 San Diego examines two claims about the proposed ballot measure to replace pensions with a 401(k) for most new city employees. Lani Lutar, president of the San Diego County Taxpayers Association, made a misleading statement about its long-term savings and Evan McLaughlin, political director for the San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council, made a false statement about its short-term costs.
And the previous edition of Fact Check TV examined a false claim by former San Diego Mayor Susan Golding about Qualcomm Stadium’s age and a mostly true assertion by City Councilwoman Marti Emerald about firefighter response times.
