I couldn’t wait to express my appreciation for what should be your job: journalism. I read today that the ombudsman for the New York Times was entertaining the question of whether reporter should investigate what politicians tell them, or if they should just present what they are told. I am nonplussed by this. Are they stenographers or reporters?

I just read your account of the Occupy protesters arrested at the State of the City address. You actually asked questions! I have been a fan of your publication, and receive daily emails. And now I am going to support the Voice of San Diego financially.

With the Constitution in shreds (except the Second Amendment), a free press is ever more essential to citizens. Could the Founding Fathers ever imagined that the press would muzzle itself? I think not.
