Maren Dougherty spent the night in Balboa Park. Actually, she spent 26 nights there in various nooks and crannies in 2011 trying to get to know the park better. That marathon, with a friend who works with Dougherty at the Balboa Park Online Collaborative, inspired her presentation at our “Meeting of the Minds” event last week at the San Diego Natural History Museum.

Dougherty was one of six speakers at our event, which followed the pecha-kucha format of 20 slides, displayed for 20 seconds each. We’ll be posting videos of all of the presentations, filmed by our partners at the Media Arts Center San Diego.

Watch Dougherty whirl us through a kitchen, a projection booth, a giant organ and other park places to introduce us to interesting people we might otherwise miss. Keep an eye out for the “bunny man”:
