In the latest edition of VOSD Radio, Scott Lewis and special guest host Andrew Keatts take a look at how a private group, the Downtown San Diego Partnership, aims to pick up government’s slack after the demise of redevelopment. The group is run by Kris Michell, former chief of staff for San Diego Mayors Jerry Sanders and Susan Golding.

“We’re watching the reinvention of local government,” Lewis said.

Lewis and Keatts also recap:

• what the requirement to build parking does to costs; and
• how Mayor Bob Filner gets a “Barely True” verdict in a Fact Check about tourism-promotion money for Balboa Park’s 2015 celebration.

They also plug our “Crafting Beer Policy” discussion on June 27.

Plus, find out why VOSD Radio named Will Moore as the Hero of the Week and President Barack Obama as the Goat of the Week. Listen here.
