LaShae Collins, an educator and staffer to Assemblywoman Shirley Weber, joins the podcast to talk about her decision to run for the school board seat vacated by Marne Foster.

LaShae said she wants to prioritize three key things: readiness, engagement and success.

“I see myself as a person who’s gonna be the voice of reason,” she said. “The voice of bringing morals, values and so forth back to the board.”

Podcast co-hosts Scott Lewis and Andrew Keatts also talked about the cyclical nature of local news and touched on the Chargers’ decision to hire Fred Maas to work on a proposal for a downtown stadium. They also discussed SANDAG’s  proposals for how to spend money from a possible half-cent tax increase.
