She’s got a rep for voting “no,” and she likes it.
San Diego Councilmember Vivian Moreno joined our show this week to dish on the city’s budget discussions, new trash fee and upcoming debates on a proposed minimum wage hike for hospitality workers.
She also explains why she could not get behind the budgets proposed by the City Council and Mayor Todd Gloria, which she said lacked sufficient funding for stormwater infrastructure. Moreno represents some of the communities that were devastated by the Jan. 22 floods in 2024.
Also on the show: Moreno took a shot at the open San Diego County Supervisor seat earlier this year, but didn’t get enough votes to move past the Primary Election. South Bay mayors Paloma Aguirre and John McCann are now in a heated battle for the seat.
She reflected on why she didn’t win and what she could have done differently. Moreno also shared her prediction for the race and explained why she didn’t endorse Aguirre.
83% of eligible voters did not cast a ballot in the Primary. Who cares about Moreno? Nobody! Moreno like all so-called leaders in San Diego are a corrupt network of back handers and glad handers yet the dumb voters take the bait. They can join the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz.
