Mark Powell, a candidate for the San Diego Unified School District Board’s Sub-District A, recently said the board voted to cut the district’s school year to “the shortest school year in the world” if Proposition 30 fails. Powell made the comment at Politifest, where he and other school board hopefuls recently debated.
