Those who want to help feed our city’s hungry find themselves forced to choose between two major food banks: the San Diego Food Bank and Feeding America San Diego.

Both organizations claim to be leading the fight against hunger in San Diego, but only one of them is interested in joining forces with the other.

Voice of San Diego’s Lisa Halverstadt joined NBC’s Monica Dean to break down the differences between the organizations and explain how San Diego ended up with two of them. That’s this week’s San Diego Explained.
