Deborah Hartman, the spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Carol Lam, confirmed City Attorney Mike Aguirre’s claim that her office hasn’t received the Kroll report.

Mayor Jerry Sanders’ spokesman Fred Sainz told the Union-Tribune that the Justice Department and others looking into the city’s books and politics were reviewing drafts of the Kroll investigative report. A related article appeared in CityBeat a few days earlier.

Sainz said today that Kroll consultants told him that they intended to share the report with other agencies that are probing City Hall so that they could make sure it was to their liking, but he did not know how far along they were in that process.

The Kroll probe, which has been delayed several times, has cost the city more than $20 million.
