Thursday, April 10, 2008 | Wonderful news! Our SDPD officers are getting a 6 percent raise. On top of the 9 percent raise they got last year, it should help to bring them closer to the “norm.” Mayor Sanders did not get any retirement concessions from any union as yet. He campaigned that within 90 days of being elected he would bring all the unions to the table. He has failed in that regard. Taxpayers are paying out $160 million this year for employees’ pensions, which is four to five times what it was a few years ago. We voted for him last time. We are not voting for him to stay in office. He has failed in his promises to the voters and taxpayers.
