City Attorney Mike Aguirre; former mayoral candidate and retirement trustee Peter Q. Davis; former mayor and talk show host Roger Hedgecock; Performance Institute president Carl DeMaio, and local pundit Bob Kittle of the Union-Tribune will discuss the following topic Nov. 1:

“San Diego’s Pension Crisis: What Went Wrong, and How Do We Avoid These Mistakes In The Future.”

Mayor Jerry Sanders himself will also make some remarks, a spokeswoman for his campaign initiatives said.

Give it a few minutes, but discussion is expected to drift into a roundtable endorsement of Proposition B, Sanders’ proposal to require voters to approve new pension benefits for city workers.

Here’s an invitation.

Proposition B has garnered just a fraction of the attention of the mayor’s other measure, Proposition C.

The event is free to the public and will be held at the Kona Kai Resort, located at 1551 Shelter Island Drive, from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Gene Cubbison of NBC 7/39 will moderate the forum.
